My progress

So as you all know I was feeling really down about my lack of progress losing weight. I decided last night after I made my workout journal that I would post my dreaded before picture. I have been putting this off since I took the picture, because I hated the way I looked so much and was just too embarrassed. I'm still pretty horrified to post these, but I think it's really important. I took these a couple months ago when I was about 10 lbs heavier than I am now.

You can see where I still have the large stomach from being pregnant, not attractive in any way. I decided today to take a current "progress" picture. I was shocked at what I found I look completely different and even though I'm only 10lbs lighter it looks (I think) like I lost a lot more than that.

This made me feel so good about myself like I was actually getting there. Below I put each photo side by side.

I feel like my arms haven't changed at all, but I'm still working on those. These pictures brought me so much joy and motivation. I absolutely can't wait to show you all the next set of pictures in a month!


  1. Isn't it great that when you combine exercise and healthy eating, it appears that you lost more weight than it says on the scale? I am having the same experience. I guess we can thank building muscle and tightening up. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

  2. Yes! I tried using a measuring tape instead, but even that wasn't showing that much improvement. I must have tried doing it really tight the first time and am now doing it right!
